In the aftermath of the 2023 Lahaina wildfires, Sacred Hearts School buildings burned to the ground. However, that did not stop school staff from responding to the needs of students and families. The school immediately relocated to Sacred Hearts Mission Church in Kapalua with temporary classrooms and outdoor tents. Diocese of Honolulu Bishop Larry Silva and Principal Tonata Lolesio send messages of hope and aloha with grateful hearts to all those who have rallied for support.
“We who have the blessing of believing in God and in the power of the Lord Jesus also have a responsibility to stand in the midst of winds and fires of grief and frustration and to amplify the whispering voice of God’s constant presence of loving care so it will be our guide and our hope.”
